Believe in the power of philanthropy.
When we connect what is needed in the community with what is possible in health care today, transformation begins.
Greenwich Hospital is in a multiyear growth plan to secure our position as the region’s leading medical center and healthcare provider. Our award-winning medical and emergency services, bolstered by our unique partnership with Yale New Haven Health, offer access to physician experts associated with a nationally recognized academic medical institution. We support emerging healthcare delivery that is technologically advanced and offers precise subspecialty care.
Campaign Progress
Behavioral Health
The COVID-19 pandemic has shined a new light on the importance of mental health, we recognize the urgency of the moment. Our Behavioral Health team of psychiatrists and psychologists evaluate and treat individuals who experience depression, anxiety, and other psychological and psychiatric conditions with compassionate care. Our Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic is available for all patients, while urgent mental health issues are addressed within our Emergency Department. Additionally, specialists within our Addiction Recovery Center work with individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. In partnership with Yale Psychiatry, the largest provider of psychiatric services in the state of Connecticut, Greenwich Hospital is poised to deliver a full spectrum of care and treatment.
Children's Health
Fairfield and Westchester counties support a child population of approximately 430,000. With children comprising nearly a quarter of the 40,000 visits to Greenwich Hospital’s nationally recognized Emergency Department each year, we made a commitment to deliver innovative 24/7 pediatric emergency medicine services at Greenwich Hospital. Through our partnership with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, we also broadened our pediatric services into 35 subspecialty areas as well as recently opened a child-friendly Pediatric Ambulatory Surgery Center in the hospital, with surgical suite and recovery rooms for young patients. Our doctors and nurses are trained to treat complex diseases and life-threatening illnesses, with a skilled and calming demeanor.
Heart and Vascular
Cardiovascular disease claims more lives annually than all cancers combined. It is the number one cause of death in Connecticut. In partnership with Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine, the Heart and Vascular Center at Greenwich Hospital offers a complete range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac services and vascular care. Patients have access to the nation’s top cardiologists and subspecialists with advanced training in emergency angioplasty, vascular surgery, electrophysiology and innovative therapies.
Neuroscience
Over 600 neurologic diseases affect the brain, spinal cord and nervous system. Stroke causes one out of every 20 deaths. To address the need for higher level care in neuroscience, the hospital has established the Yale Neurosciences Center at Greenwich Hospital, poised to be the region’s premier destination for neurological and neurosurgical treatment of stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries and tumors, seizure disorders, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Recent investments to neuroscience have elevated the standard of care to a state-of-the-art program not seen at many hospitals. The acquisition of biplane fluoroscopy 3D technology enables neurovascular surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures that reverse symptoms of stroke. A new robotic assist navigation system for spine surgery vastly improves patients’ recovery. We are ramping up for continuous vEEG, an advanced monitoring system for patients having seizures. Neurologists, neurosurgeons, and a neuropsychologist have been recruited and our strong partnership with Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine holds immeasurable promise for groundbreaking research.
Oncology
One in two women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. One in three men. In our immediate region, the prevalence of cancer is expected to grow 20.5 percent over the next decade, approximately 4,100 new cases each year through 2029. To address this critical and growing need, and to continue to provide peerless patient care, Greenwich Hospital has expanded its oncology programmatic services. This expansion includes the recruitment of cancer specialists in areas such as lung, hematology, gynecology and urology – areas expected to see the greatest rise in diagnoses over the next decade. In collaboration with Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center, Greenwich Hospital’s board-certified staff of medical, radiation and surgical oncologists use the most innovative approaches, research and technology to provide exceptional, tailored cancer treatment to each patient.
