Robert W. Berkley, Jr., Christopher Howes, MD, Diane P. Kelly, Eric J. Velazquez, MD, Michael Chen, MD

The Greenwich Hospital Office of Development launched its Conversations for the Curious series this past fall, providing hospital friends and supporters an opportunity to learn together from leaders within areas of clinical importance to the communities Greenwich Hospital serve.

The first program in the series, Behavioral Health: Where We Stand in Addressing an Intergenerational Crisis, featured Amir Garakani, MD, Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital and Joshua I. Hrabosky, PsyD, Clinical Psychologist and Program Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital. The interactive dinner, which took place on September 14 at the Greenwich Country Club, centered around the expansion plans  surrounding Behavioral Health services, particularly within our community’s adolescent and adult populations.

On November 2, friends of Greenwich Hospital gathered at the Belle Haven Club for the second dinner program in the series, Active & Proactive: Your Heart Needs Both.

Progress surrounding diagnostics, treatments, technology, research and clinical trials within the Heart and Vascular field is swift moving and exciting. Dr. Christopher Howes, Greenwich Hospital’s Chief of Cardiology; Dr. Eric Velazquez, Physician-in-Chief at the YNHH Heart and Vascular Center; and Dr. Michael Chen, Greenwich Hospital Yale Medicine Cardiologist, shared how these advances are transformative for both clinicians and patients alike.

The next program in this interactive series will take place for our hospital friends in Florida on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. From Genes to Brain Circuits: Neurorestorative Surgery, will be led by internationally-renowned neuroscience leader Dr. Murat Gunel, recipient of the 2022 Ralph G. Dacey Medal for Outstanding Cerebrovascular Research; Nixdorff-German Professor of Neurosurgery and Professor of Genetics and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine; and Chair and Chief of Neurosurgery at Yale New Haven Health.

The Office of Development’s fourth program will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Townhouse Greenwich, and will feature several of Greenwich Hospital Yale New Haven Health leaders in our Children’s service areas.
